Overview of a garden pond ready for seasonal care

Three ways to start, depending on where you are

From a first look at what's going on, through to sediment work and filter servicing — each stands on its own.

Finding the right starting point

Not every pond needs the same thing. Some owners just want to know what's going on before deciding anything; others already know sediment has built up, or that the pump doesn't sound right anymore. Below are the three visits we offer — read through and pick whichever matches where your pond actually is, or get in touch and we'll help you figure it out.

How to choose

If you're unsure what's actually wrong — or whether anything is wrong at all — start with the assessment; it's the least involved and gives you real figures to work from. If you already know sediment has been building for a season or two and the water has lost depth, sediment withdrawal is the more direct route. If the pump has grown noisy or flow seems weaker than it used to, filtration review is usually the better fit. If none of this feels obvious, a short message describing what you've noticed is enough — we're glad to help you decide.

Offers at a glance

Visit Duration Price Best for
Water Reading 90 minutes ¥2,400 First look, unclear history, new ownership
Sediment Withdrawal Half day ¥3,600 Visible sludge, reduced depth over seasons
Filtration Review 2–3 hours ¥4,300 Weak flow, cloudiness, noisy pump

What every visit includes

· Plain-language explanation of anything found

· Photographs where relevant to what's discussed

· No pressure to book additional visits

· Care taken with fish and plant baskets throughout

On pricing

Prices reflect the scope described for each visit. Larger basins or additional sediment work beyond the standard scope are discussed and agreed before anything proceeds, so there are no surprises on the day.

A few questions before you decide

Do I need an assessment before booking sediment withdrawal?

Not necessarily — if you already know sediment has built up, you can book withdrawal directly. The assessment is there for when you're less sure.

What happens to my fish during sediment work?

They're moved to an aerated holding tank filled with water from their own pond, and returned once conditions have settled.

Can I book more than one visit at once?

Yes — just mention it in your message and we'll arrange the order that makes sense for your pond.

Not sure which visit fits?

Send a short description of your pond and we'll suggest a sensible starting point.
